R&D SCIENTIST

Empresa de Talavera de la Reina precisa,  R&D SCIENTIST. Formación Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science and Technology or similar. 3–5 years of experience, preferably in the food and/or ingredients sector. We are seeking an R&D Scientist in physical or process chemistry to drive experimental learning, development, and optimization in a hands-on R&D environment. This role focuses on judgment-led experimentation, working with poorly characterized systems,and translating results into actionable insights. It is not a routine testing or QC role. What You’ll Do • Design, execute, and adapt experiments to understand material behavior and process performance • Interpret experimental results to generate insights that support process, product, or formulation development • Identify root causes of unexpected results and adjust experimental strategies accordingly • Prioritize laboratory work to accelerate learning and decision-making • Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining ownership of assigned R&D activities What Success Looks Like • Applies sound scientific judgment beyond standard procedures • Uses hypothesis-driven thinking to answer why and how, not just what • Operates independently with minimal handholding • Proactively adapts plans as new data emerges • Communicates effectively across a matrix organization Scientist II – Experience Expectations • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in R&D, process chemistry, physical chemistry, or a related development-oriented role • Comfortable working independently at the bench while coordinating with cross-functional partners • Demonstrated ability to interpret results, propose next steps, and drive work forward with limited supervision Senior Scientist – Experience Expectations • Extensive hands-on experience in R&D or process development roles involving ambiguous or evolving systems • Proven track record of end-to-end ownership of experimental programs and technical decision-making • Recognized ability to drive complex problems independently, align stakeholders, and influence technical direction. B2 English level required. *Proficiency in computer tools
